"The Nonprofit Sector's Significance as the Pathway to the Middle Class".

The District's non prodit is often viewed as a service provider seeking funds rather than a major sustainable employer whose employees are well positioned to succeed on the Pathway to the Middle Class . The conference will assess how well District workforce development agencies and nonprofits are aligning their grant -making and program goals to prepare local job seekers for the sector ’s employment opportunities

Notice of Grant Funding

The DC Taxicab Commission is establishing a grants program to assist District residents and taxicab companies in obtaining new wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs). Applications are available to drivers with a valid H-tag and taxicab companies that are in good standing. All those receiving a grant must agree to participate in the Transport DC program and take a sensitivity training program developed in partnership with the DC Office of Disability Rights.

Driver Services

The DC Taxicab Commission is located at 2235 Shannon Place, SE, Washington, DC 20020. The Driver Services office is in Suite 2001 and can be reached on (202) 645-6001. General office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4 pm except District holidays. Effective August 10, 2015, driver testing is offered on Tuesdays at 9:30 am and Thursdays at 11:30 am only.
