Taxicab Fares

District of Columbia taxi rates effective April 21, 2012

Fares:

• First 1/8 mile: $3.00

• Each additional 1/8 mile: $0.27

• Wait rate per hour: $25.00
  (begins 5 minutes after arrival, or if stopped in traffic or below 10mph for 60 seconds or more)

Extras:

• Additional passenger – Vans Only (age 6 and older): $1.00
  (for 2nd, 3rd and 4th Passengers…Max $3.00 per trip)

• Hourly Hire Rate (1st hour or any fraction thereof): $25.00
  (after 1st hour – each 15 minutes thereafter): $6.25

• Luggage driver places in trunk (per piece): $0.50

• Telephone Dispatch Fee: $2.00

• Declared Snow Emergency Fee (Flat Rate): $15.00
  • Shared riding – assigned venues only (Union Station, Nationals Park and Verizon Center).
  • No rush hour surcharge.
  • Selected surcharges (eg fuel, airport) may apply.
